First Degree Reiki Class
There are, generally speaking, 3 levels, or "degrees" of Reiki training.
All classes include lecture, discussion, and practical experience.
The first level is all about channeling the Reiki energy and gaining some understanding around it. Our emphasis is on the physical. We introduce the science of energy and Reiki and present the history of Reiki. Students receive attunements that enable them to channel Reiki energy.
Students learn the first of 5 Reiki symbols, how to apply them for a wide variety of practical uses, introductory information on the chakras, their place in the Reiki session, and how to treat each. Instructor teaches specific protocols and hand positions which allow the practitioner to give effective Reiki treatments in a variety of situations, to others, for self-treatment, and for animals, plants, etc. Scanning is introduced.
Each student gives and receives a full Reiki session, and learns specific self-care aids, meditations, and ways to apply Reiki to your every day life. Everyone leaves grinning, connected to something much more than they ever imagined!
Common Reiki Questions
Reiki is a very simple technique to learn and is not dependent on one having any prior experience with healing, meditation or any other kind of training. It has been successfully learned by over one million people from all walks of life, both young an old.
A beginning Reiki class is taught on a weekend. The class can be one or two days long. I recommend that the minimum time necessary be at least six to seven hours. Along with the attunement, it is necessary that the student be shown how to give treatments and also to practice giving treatments in class.
We cover the history, what Reiki is, how to use it, & when. We include lots of practicing of various useful techniques, as well as the giving and receiving of a full Reiki session. We offer detailed uses of the symbols, teaching on the chakras, the body organs, and what their emotional counterparts are, which symbols to use when, for what, and how to treat with Reiki. Our 1st and 2nd degree classes are 12 hours each.
There are numerous Reiki teachers or Masters in our area. Once you find a Reiki teacher or practitioner you are interested in receiving training or a treatment from, it is a good idea to ask them some important questions. Here are a few that will give you additional information to make a choice.
Our classes are approved to give CEU credits to licensed massage therapists in Oregon.

Yes, one of the terrific things about Reiki is the ability to be able to treat yourself at any time.
Animals love Reiki too. They seem to have a natural understanding of what Reiki is and its benefits. Once a pet has received a Reiki treatment, they will often let you know that they want more. Plants also respond well to Reiki.

We offer a regular, on-going free workshop through LCC, called "Reiki Circle", for anyone who has Reiki training. These include a time of teaching, group healing, and individual Reiki sessions. Yes, we are more than happy to help our students begin their own opportunities for sharing Reiki!
